Building a New Dental Office
Wiring and plumbing of the new office
Tuesday, May 17, 2011
Once the structural construction is complete, it’s time to tackle the plumbing, mechanical details and electrical specifications. While these are included in your set of blueprints, I would advise to have a general idea of any feature you would like to incorporate that may need plumbing or electricity. NOW would be the time to add it before the insulation and sheet rock go up. It may be considered a change or but basically it’s now or never. Really think about your changes; although some are necessary and a must, they do start adding up and can affect the bottom line of the project.
A few things to think about that will need wiring and plumbing.
• Computers, how many do you need and where will they be placed?
• Light fixtures, what fixtures do you want and where would you like them?
• TV’s, how many do you need and where will they be placed?
• Water features?
Thank You

Are you considering building a new dental office?
What actually goes into the construction of an office?
Throughout the next few months I will attempt to give you a birds eye view of what goes into the construction of a new dental office.
As I work on this project, I will be sharing with you the process and decision making that is required to make an office both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
To catch you up to speed, this project has been in the works for the last 6 months. It all begins in the planning stages, working with the architect and finalizing the design of the office plan. It is at this point that it is best to involve a qualified interior designer. There are so many daunting decisions that need to be made and are time sensitive that it is impossible to work full time as a dentist and build an office.
